Do you have a minimum dollar amount to come out and perform installations?
No.
My garage is a mess, do I have to move everything for your team to install?
We generally request that we have 4 feet of clearance as a minimum on any wall that we are working on. We can and will take care of that part of the project for you if you prefer.
Can I purchase products from you and install on my own?
Some select products are available for purchase on the Monkey Bars website. Other than those, we do not sell products for installation on their own.
What makes SpaceThis different than the other garage enhancement companies?
We are locally owned and operated, full-service company that offers all Monkey Bars products.
Garage Cabinets
What are your garage cabinets made of?
3/4″ and 1″ thick melamine.
Why are the garage cabinets mounted up off the floor?
Since garage floors can get wet, we raise the cabinets off the floor to protect them from moisture. This also allows you to wash your garage floor without causing damage to your cabinets.
Do all of your garage cabients have full backs?
Only our Signature Series Garage Cabinets come with full backs.
Do you recommend full backs on garage cabinets?
While full backs are a premium product, this is a place where customers can save some money without causing a major visible impact.
Do you provide custom sizes if needed on your garage cabinets?
Yes, we offer custom sizes on our Signature Series Garage Cabinets.
Some competitors promote more hinges on their garage cabinets than you. Why?
Our cabinet doors and hinge placement are sufficient to avoid any negative effects. Hinges are available in different quality levels and weight ratings which may be why other cabinets have more hinges.
What about plugs and light switches, do they get covered up by the garage cabinets?
We avoid placing cabinets over critical electrical components. If an outlet is behind a cabinet, we provide access through the back of the cabinet for the outlet.
Are you garage cabinets made in North America?
Yes.
Garage Flooring
How soon can I get back into the garage once the garage floor coating is completed?
You can drive on your garage floor the next morning.
Does everything have to be out of the garage during the garage floor coating installation?
We only need access to the floor. No need to remove items from the walls.
My home is new, do my floors still need to be prepped, as I would like to save some money and not have it prepped?
Yes, the initial preparation is an extremely important part of the process. This helps your new flooring adhere to the concrete.
One of your competitors tols me that it takes up to three days to do a garage floor.
The length of time it takes to do a garage floor depends on many factors. We can complete a floor in as little as one day, and some floors take several days. Size, existing conditions, and product selection all cause the complete time to vary.
Do you cover the side walls with the garage floor coating?
We can and do coat vertical concrete surfaces.
Does your garage floor coating cover the area outside the garage door where it meets the driveway?
Yes.
What if I drop something and I damage the new garage floor coating?
The coating is extremely durable. If it becomes damaged, we can repair your floor.
How do you recommend we clean our new floor?
A squeegee and water work well for cleaning.
Garage Shelving
What is better, wall-mounted garage shelving or overhead ceiling racks?
They are different, your needs and your garage will dictate which works best for you. We can discuss this at your in-garage estimate.
What is the weigh capacity of your garage shelving?
Each 4′ section is capable of holding 1,000 lbs.
Do you recommend wired grid shelving or solid surface garage shelving?
We install solid surface shelving.
Will wall shelving interfere with our vehicles?
No, we design your shelving to avoid any conflict.
What if I need more hooks to hang items from the Monkey Bars System?
Let us know. We keep hooks in stock and you can get them quickly.
Overhead Ceiling Racks
How are the overhead ceiling racks secured to the ceiling?
We use lag bolts secured into your wood framing members.
How many connections are there to the ceiling per ceiling rack?
Each rack is secured with 8 lag bolts.
How many joists is the overhead ceiling rack mounted on?
It depends on your framing members. Each rack has 4 vertical hangers. Each of those attach into at least 2 framing members.
Can your overhead ceiling racks be mounted to walls?
Yes.
Will the overhead racks bow in the middle with weight?
No.
How large can you make a single overhead storage rack?
We can put multiple racks together depending on your available space.
What if the ceiling joists are engineered joists?
No problem. Both work well.
PVC Slatwall
Is the finish on the slat wall painted on?
No, our finish is integral and consistent all the way through.
Does slat wall protect my garage walls?
Yes.
What do you do about the seams and cut edges on the slat wall?
We have edge and splice moldings.
Does the slat wall cover plugs, switches, electrical panels, etc.?
We cut holes for electrical devices.
What accessories fit your slat wall?
We have a full line of hooks to compliment our slat wall system.
How is the slat wall mounted to the wall?
It is screwed into the wall.
